Project Overview:

Join us as we make history at the Hanford Vit Plant, known as the Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant. We are designing and building a one-of-a-kind facility that will turn radioactive and chemical waste left over from World War II and Cold War plutonium production into a form safe for disposal. Your efforts will help protect the nearby Columbia River and the communities, salmon, and wildlife along its shorelines throughout the Northwest.

Sitting at the confluence of the Columbia, Snake and Yakima rivers near two mountain ranges, our community provides access to year-round outdoor recreation, 300 days of sun a year, more than 200 wineries within a 50-mile radius, and the amenities of large cities just a three-hour drive (or short flight) to Seattle and Portland.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will execute the development of automation tools, templates, and workflows in alignment with the project's automation plan. You will configure and customize engineering applications and reports to meet project needs, ensuring accuracy, usability, and consistency. Your responsibilities include reviewing test plans, evaluating performance curves, and managing engineering output data to maintain quality and compliance. Your technical recommendations will help ensure applications adhere to established engineering work processes and that project requirements are fully supported by the structure and availability of project data.

Part-Time Telework : This position is a full-time role that offers part-time telework flexibility in the Richland, Washington project office. Upon initial hire and onboarding, the position will require full time presence in the Richland, Washington project office, then may offer part-time telework flexibility. This position works a 9/80 schedule, offering every other Friday off.

Major Responsibilities:

• Establishes and administers selectEngineering applications on the project,includes, but is not limited to OpenPlant P&ID, OpenPlant Modeler, OpenPlant Support Engineering, Bentley Raceway and Cable Management, OpenBuildings Designer, ProjectWise, Microstation, Smart Materials, SmartPlant Foundation, Smart Interop Publisher, Agile etc.Implements the engineering automation tools inaccordance with the project automation plan,designing/developing workflows, forms, andtemplates for automation tools
• Coordinates with construction, procurement,project controls and other departments toestablish automated data transfer betweenapplications
• Understands reporting requirements for eachapplication and configures reports accordingly; Ensures reports are accurate reflections of thedata and are functioning as intended
• Collates performance curves, metrics, trackers,and user feedback to show trends, and use inimprovements
• Reviews output data and prepares engineeringreport with direction from Engineering Group Supervisors and Project Engineering Manager
• Provides training and technical support of thesuite of Engineering Automation applications, tofield engineering, supervision, administration,project controls and other site personnel
• Evaluates and coordinates theimplementation of new automationmodules and tools.Tests and supports data integration of newreleases of production software/programs
• Customizes applications as required byproject
• Prepares user guides and training materialand delivers training
• Recommends adjustments in coordinationwith the Engineering Group Supervisors and Project EngineeringManager

Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Systems (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant professional experience or 6-9 years of relevant professional work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Must be authorized to work and remain in the United Stateswithout Bechtel visa sponsorshipnow or in the future.
• Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drugscreen, physical (if located at the construction site), andbackground check which includes verification of employmentand education.
• Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge foraccess to the Hanford Site. (Even if teleworking, must still beable to comply with security requirements to obtain a badge.)
• Non-U.S. citizens from countries identified by the Departmentof Energy as posing heightened security concerns-includingsensitive countries, state sponsors of terrorism, countries ofrisk, and other designated countries -are subject to additionalsecurity requirements that limit site access.
• Ability to perform basic software testing and troubleshooting for EAsupported tools, including executing defined test cases, validating expected results against acceptance criteria, and documenting changes in accordance with configurationmanagement requirements.
• Understanding 2D/3D model integration and CAD standards, including title blocks, project fonts, and interference/clash management requirements.
• Ability to work with multidiscipline engineering data to support data quality and integration workflows.
