Senior Buyer Salary: USD 85,000 - 95,000 per year Pay: $85,000 - $95,000 Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm Direct Hire Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen. Position Summary With minimal supervision responsible for purchasing and vendor negotiations. Evaluates quotes and services, and historic performance data to ensure best quality and best value. Key Responsibilities Manages inventory of raw materials by utilizing the min/max reports weekly. Updating as necessary to ensure proper inventory levels. Processes blanket purchase orders to ensure inventory levels for floor stock etc. Works with planning to forecast demand using multiple metrics, including finished goods, forecasts and usage history to determine appropriate inventory levels of raw materials. Assists planning by ordering raw materials needed to fulfill customer orders by creating purchase requisitions, request pricing, obtain approval signatures and placing purchase orders. Monitors and evaluates supplier performance along with Quality to determine and implements corrective actions to resolve impending supplier failure that may delay production or delivery. Maintains accurate lead times, issues PO’s that accurately reflect price, schedule, terms, and conditions as negotiated with suppliers. Negotiates and settles damage claims, rejections, losses, return of materials, over-shipments, cancellations and engineering changes with suppliers. Qualifications Education and Experience Minimum 5+ years purchasing experience. AA degree or some college preferred. Experience in medical / diagnostic / biotechnology production setting strongly preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Follows company policies, procedures and objectives, and safety standards. Self-starter able to work with minimal supervision. Strong attention to detail, organizational, written, and oral communication skills. The ability to multi-task in a fast paced, changing environment and work well as part of a team. Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office Skills, most critically Excel.
