University Medical Imaging (UMI) – Folsom, CA

Salary: $65,000–$85,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience

Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday. No evenings, weekends, or major holidays. Flexible work schedules may be available.

University Medical Imaging (UMI) is an established outpatient diagnostic imaging center that has proudly served the Sacramento community for over 19 years. As we expand into our new Folsom location, we are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented  Senior Staff Accountant to support the accounting functions for our growing company.

This position is ideal for someone who genuinely  enjoys accounting , organization, and problem-solving while working collaboratively with vendors, billing partners, management, internal staff, and others to ensure our financial records are accurate, complete, and well maintained. Training will take place at our Sacramento location. Once our new Folsom center opens, this position will based at our Folsom location.

Responsibilities

• Post accounts receivable for insurance, self-pay, workers' compensation, and other payer sources.

• Process accounts payable.

• Enter and reconcile credit card transactions while maintaining supporting documentation.

• Maintain vendor records, including collecting and tracking W-9s and preparing annual 1099 forms.

• Prepare month-end and year-end accounting activities, including credit card reconciliations, journal entries, financial reporting, and supporting schedules for our CPA.

• Prepare reports, reconciliations, and spreadsheets for management.

• Maintain organized electronic and paper filing systems.

• Work collaboratively with team members, management, our CPA, and our third-party billing company.

• Assist with special projects and other accounting or administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3–5 years of progressively responsible accounting or bookkeeping experience.

• Formal education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.

• Proficiency with QuickBooks is required.

• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Office.

• Ability to quickly learn new software.

• Experience preparing month-end reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reports is strongly preferred.

• Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

• Strong organizational, time-management, and follow-up skills.

• Professional written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities while maintaining confidentiality.

• Demonstrated ability to take ownership of responsibilities, work independently, and exercise sound judgment.

• Experience in healthcare or insurance accounting is a plus.
