The attorney selected for this position will have the opportunity to: Work directly with elected union leadership. Influence major organizing and bargaining campaigns. Develop litigation and advocacy strategies that impact thousands of workers. Serve as a trusted advisor to labor movement leaders. Build a long-term career advancing worker power and economic justice. Key Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be responsible for high profile labor work including arbitration, negotiation, PERC and NLRB work and may at times serve as General Counsel to a union. Required Qualifications, Skills, Experience and Attributes: Belief in, and passion for labor unions and union values. Strong interest in labor and employment law, particularly representing workers and unions. Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school. 3-5 years’ experience assisting in representation of labor unions. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with union leadership. Excellent writing, research, litigation, analytical, and advocacy skills. Litigation passion. A smart attorney who completes work on time. Experience in grievance arbitration, collective bargaining and NLRB proceedings, preferred but not required. Federal and/or state court experience a plus (jury experience not necessary.) EEOC, employment, public defender work experience a plus. Active membership in good standing with a state bar is required. Florida Bar admission is preferred. The firm may consider hybrid work arrangements for candidates residing outside Florida, based on the needs of the practice and the qualifications of the selected candidate. Fun!
