Details discussed during the interview process.OverviewDepartment: Medical SurgicalEmployment Type: Full TimeShifts Available: NightsHours: 12-hour shifts - 7:00 pm to 7:00 amLocation: Harlingen Medical Center - Harlingen, TXResponsibilitiesConduct thorough initial assessments and ongoing evaluations of patients' physical, emotional, and mental healthMonitor vital signs, intake/output, and other clinical indicators to detect changes in patient conditionsRecognize and act on warning signs of deterioration, such as changes in heart rate, respiratory rate, or mental statusSafely administer prescribed medications (oral, IV, subcutaneous, intramuscular) and monitor for adverse effects or allergic reactionsAct as a liaison between patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure the patient's needs are metProvide patient education on their condition, treatment options, and lifestyle adjustments to support recovery and prevent readmission.Communicate effectively with doctors, specialists, physical therapists, and social workers to develop and adjust care plansQualifications1. Current and valid state RN License.2. Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.3. Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.4. Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.5. Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.6. Ventilator Management experience preferred.7.
