Production Team Lead

Production Team Lead – Grand Forks, ND Winland Foods invites you to lead production lines as a Production Team Lead at its Grand Forks facility. The role requires 12‑hour night shifts (7:00pm–7:30am) on the A schedule and is a full‑time position. Compensation is $27.20 per hour plus a $0.50 night‑shift differential. Responsibilities Operate basic packaging machinery (depalletizers, palletizers, conveyors, forklifts) and perform equipment changeovers. Use SAP, IQS, MII and Weaver to monitor processes, record transactions, and maintain sanitation after changeovers. Execute routine operation checks, daily inspections, preventive maintenance, and advanced troubleshooting. Oversee assigned production lines, ensuring correct setup, adequate staffing, and organized materials. Collaborate with Maintenance for equipment functionality and troubleshoot operational issues. Inspect products for correct labeling, alignment, and packaging; perform manual packing and palletizing. Follow FIFO inventory methods, manage materials, and record shipments in SAP. Conduct quality checks, verify weight control, material accuracy and product quality at multiple checkpoints. Enforce GMP, HACCP, and food‑safety standards; maintain compliance documentation and sanitation steps. Lead food‑safety compliance in assigned area, train employees, and maintain accurate safety audit records. Assist team members, provide backup coverage, assign tasks, lead shift meetings and train others in advanced operations. Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors and other departments. Accurately complete production paperwork, record inventory transactions, shipments and quality results in SAP. Participate in 5S efforts, lead improvement projects, analyze downtime causes and implement process improvements. Act as 5S champion and drive cost‑saving initiatives. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Minimum one year of experience in manufacturing or food production. Forklift certification preferred (required for advanced level); willingness to obtain certification if not held. Age 18 or older. Ability to operate, troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on packaging equipment. Mechanical aptitude and ability to resolve equipment irregularities. Proficiency in SAP, handheld scanners, basic math; advanced levels require MII, WE systems. Basic computer literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Knowledge of GMP, SQF, HACCP, FSMA and related food‑safety regulations. Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership abilities. Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs, stand/walk 90% of shift and work in wet, humid, or dusty conditions. Physical Demands Tasks include standing and walking for extended periods, frequent climbing, pulling, pushing, carrying, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning, and stooping. Ability to lift up to 50lbs via arm strength. Requires 20/20 corrected vision, color perception, normal hearing, and full range of hand/arm movement. PPE must be worn as required.
