Job Description :


This position performs cardiac and vascular diagnostic ultrasound testing such as Echocardiography, Vascular, and Transcranial Doppler. An echo/vascular technologist is a Diagnostic Ultrasound Professional that is qualified by professional credentialing, academic, and clinical experience to provide diagnostic patient care services using ultrasound and related diagnostic procedures. The scope of practice of the Ultrasound Technologist includes those procedures, acts and processes permitted by law, for which the individual has received education and clinical experience, has demonstrated competency, and has completed the appropriate ARDMS/CCI specialty certification(s) which is the standard of practice in ultrasound. The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for the independent operation of sonographic equipment, and for performing and communicating findings of diagnostic examinations using sonography as appropriate. The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for daily operations of the ultrasound lab, patient schedule, equipment maintenance, the report of equipment failures, and quality assessment (QA). The sonographer maintains a high standard of medical ethics at all times and is self-motivated to pursue lifelong learning to increase level of understanding and knowledge of the field, disease, and new procedures as they evolve.

• Performs clinical assessment and diagnostic sonography examinations according to defined imaging protocols for the specific needs of assigned neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
• Uses independent judgment during the sonographic exam to accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings.
• Prepares equipment and supplies; observes sterile techniques; assists physician as needed.
• Prepares equipment for ordered exam; transports patients as needed; explains procedure to patient; performs exam; records exam; consults with radiologist as needed.

Submission Requirement :

• 2+ years of Experience - Required
• Travel - Highly Preferred
• GE Experience - Required

Certification Required :

• BLS (AHA)
• ARDMS

State License Required:

• Michigan
