Restaurant Supervisor

Position Summary Supervisor’s position requires strong communication skills, an ability to juggle several tasks and the willingness and ability to complete paperwork. The role involves running day-to-day restaurant operations and maintaining our standard of service to guests, with consistent adherence to policies and procedures of the department as outlined in the Biltmore Standard Operating Procedures (BSOP'S). Responsibilities Maintain positive customer relationships to ensure 100% customer satisfaction. Conduct daily and monthly training meetings with staff. Perform daily checks of facility maintenance for cleanliness and safety. Handle employee‑relation issues, document and counsel employees. Explain, maintain, and enforce departmental policies and procedures. Maintain proper manning levels and order supplies. Use the computer program Refine to update prices and descriptions. Perform daily bar checks to ensure cleanliness, sanitation, and appropriate stocking. Ensure food standards: proper presentation, quality, portion size, and timing. Attend monthly staff meetings. Conduct end‑of‑month food and liquor inventory. Assist the manager with day‑to‑day operations. Ensure all employees report on time, are groomed, and in proper uniform. Assist manager with employee training. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Education High School Diploma required. Associate’s Degree preferred. Experience Minimum two years in a high‑volume restaurant. Skills Fluency in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding English. Accurate mathematical calculations. Legible communication and directions. Attention to detail, speed, and accuracy. Prioritization and organization. Calm problem solving with good judgment. Follow directions thoroughly. Understand guest service needs. Team player who works cohesively. Minimal supervision self‑management. Maintain confidentiality of guest information. Basic computer keyboarding; moderate to advanced computer skills. Ability to work in a dynamic, constantly changing environment. Multitasking capability. Physical Demands Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing ≤25 pounds without assistance. Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or entire shift. Reach overhead and below knees; bend, twist, pull, and stoop. Operate office equipment with finger dexterity. Communicate verbally without visual acuity issues. Focus on computer for extended periods. Adapt to moderate temperatures. Most tasks performed indoors. Success Criteria Positive guest feedback consistently met and exceeded. Consistent quality of food, cocktails, and cleanliness. Low labor costs and cost compliance below projected levels. Strict adherence to BSOPs. Strong teamwork, co‑operation, and positive influence. Guest‑focused service, warm smile, empathy across cultures. Professional appearance and composed under pressure. Trustworthy, punctual, reliable, and demonstrates integrity. Effective time management and decision‑making. Active listening and respectful communication. Overall, delivers best performance efficiently. Licenses or Certifications Safe Serve Alcohol Vending Course completed. Additional Information Employees may be required to work varying schedules, including overtime, weekends, and holidays, as the business needs of the hotel dictate. The employee will carry out any other duties within the scope, spirit, and purpose of the job as requested by the line manager or Head of Department/Division. Employees must actively follow Biltmore Hotel policies, including Equal Opportunities policies and health & safety regulations.
