Project Manager - District Energy System at AECOM Sacramento, CA

Project Manager – District Energy System (Hybrid) Location: Sacramento, CA (Hybrid role, can be located in multiple U.S. cities). Responsibilities Plan, direct, and supervise all operations for moderately sized projects with moderate risk, complexity, and financial impact. Manage and lead technical, financial, and client satisfaction aspects using consistent processes and tools. Lead small teams across business lines, remote locations, and/or subcontractors. Manage projects locally to regional level, achieving quality outcomes, financial performance, and client satisfaction. Develop strategy, prepare proposals, negotiate contracts, and execute projects. Act as primary point of contact with clients. Qualifications Required Skills Strong working knowledge of District Energy Systems (4th and 5th generation). Strong interpersonal, organizational, problem‑solving, collaboration, and leadership skills. Experience leading multidisciplinary and diverse teams of professionals. Experience managing large, complex projects in multiple locations. Ability to apply expertise to solve business challenges. Successful coaching of peers and team members. Track record of leveraging relationships to expand work with existing clients, identify new clients, and recruit and retain staff. Minimum Requirements: BS in Mechanical, Energy, Electrical, or Civil Engineering and 6 years of relevant experience (or equivalent education). Experience managing infrastructure projects, including distributed energy resources. Experience delivering complex projects/programs with high quality, on schedule, within scope, and within budget. Preferred Qualifications: 10+ years of relevant experience. Project and client management experience with multiple projects of significant scope and complexity. Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (optional). Experience in alternative delivery projects.
