Job Summary and Qualifications The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient‑centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the Emergency Room department and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN serves as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers and models a commitment to the organization’s vision, mission, and values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance. Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention. Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner. Responds promptly to patient requests and anticipates patient needs to resolve them proactively. Teaches patients, families, and caregivers about patient medical condition, treatment plan, medications, and possible side effects, translating complex medical terminology for complete understanding. Educates patients and families about non‑medicinal follow‑up measures such as healthy diet, exercise, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes, preparing them for future self‑management. Qualifications for being an Emergency Room Registered Nurse Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; BSN desirable. Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Colorado or current RN compact license from another state for the first 180 days of employment. Current BCLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required; ENPC & NRP certification preferred. At least one year of RN experience in an Emergency setting.
