Position Summary The Executive Director is the Foundation’s senior leader, responsible for advancing its mission, growing and stewarding its resources, and overseeing day‑to‑day operations. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director sets strategy in partnership with the board, leads fundraising and donor relationships, manages programs and finances, and serves as the public face of the Foundation to donors, the medical community, partners, and the public. This is a hands‑on leadership role in a lean organization: the right candidate is equally comfortable setting vision and rolling up their sleeves. Position Details Reports to: Board of Directors (through the Board President) Supervises: Assistant Director and any additional staff, contractors, and volunteers Status: Full‑time, salaried, exempt Location: On‑site in Enid, Oklahoma Compensation: Competitive salary commensurate with experience and the Foundation’s size; range to be confirmed by the Board. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership Partner with the Board to set and execute the Foundation’s strategic direction and annual priorities. Translate mission into measurable goals and report progress and impact to the Board. Identify opportunities to grow the Foundation’s reach and effectiveness in regional healthcare. Fundraising & Development Lead the Foundation’s fundraising: cultivate, solicit, and steward individual donors, sponsors, and grants. Plan and execute signature events (such as the Enid Charity Ball) and donor engagement activities. Build a diversified, sustainable revenue base and a strong culture of philanthropy. Program Leadership Oversee scholarship programs, MCAT‑prep reimbursement, mentorship, and the physician‑recruitment pipeline. Maintain strong relationships with medical schools, preceptors, students, and healthcare partners. Evaluate program outcomes and refine offerings to maximize community impact. Financial & Operational Management Develop and manage the annual budget with the Board’s Treasurer; ensure sound financial controls and reporting. Ensure compliance with legal, tax, and regulatory requirements applicable to a private foundation. Manage day‑to‑day operations, technology, records, and vendor relationships. Board Partnership & Governance Support an engaged, well‑informed Board; prepare materials and serve as a resource to Board committees. Work transparently with the Board, respecting the line between staff leadership and governance. People Leadership Supervise, develop, and support staff (including the Assistant Director) and volunteers. Foster a collaborative, mission‑driven, and accountable team culture. Community & External Relations Serve as the Foundation’s primary spokesperson and ambassador in the community. Build partnerships with healthcare organizations, civic groups, schools, and donors across the region. Qualifications Required Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (Masters preferred); demonstrated leadership in a nonprofit, healthcare, education, development, or comparable setting. Proven fundraising or revenue‑generation experience, including donor cultivation and event leadership. Strong financial‑management skills, including budgeting and oversight. Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills with diverse stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to manage people, programs, and operations in a lean organization. Commitment to the Foundation’s mission and to the communities of Northwest Oklahoma. Preferred Experience working with a volunteer Board of Directors. Familiarity with healthcare, osteopathic medicine, higher education, or the nonprofit sector. Grant‑writing and grants‑management experience. Roots in or knowledge of the Northwest Oklahoma region.
