After-School Care – Youth Development Professional (YDP)
Location: Boys & Girls Club of the Big Country
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 3:00 PM–7:00 PM (flexible for college classes)
Status: Part-Time | Non-Exempt
The Boys & Girls Club of the Big Country is seeking energetic, caring individuals to join our after-school team. Youth Development Professionals (YDPs) create a safe, fun, and supportive environment where youth can learn, grow, and thrive. This is a great opportunity for college students, aspiring teachers, coaches, or anyone passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people.
Responsibilities- Supervise and engage youth during after-school programming
- Lead games, educational activities, sports, arts, STEM, and enrichment programs
- Build positive relationships and serve as a mentor and role model
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and structured environment
- Provide homework assistance and encourage positive behavior
- Work collaboratively with staff and participate in trainings and special events
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Experience working with children or teens preferred
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Dependable, positive, and enthusiastic
- Reliable transportation
- Pass a criminal background check and drug screening
- Comply with all Boys & Girls Club policies
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
Must be able to actively participate in indoor and outdoor activities, stand for extended periods, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
