Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) utilizes the nursing process to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients during a shift. This role ensures safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care for patients across various settings.

Key Responsibilities

Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document individual patient needs, actions taken, and patient responses.
Coordinate patient care through collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
Initiate, utilize, and document appropriate protocols and standards of care.
Administer medication and treatments as prescribed by a physician or standard protocols; document according to policy.
Identify and meet patient and family learning and discharge needs at admission and throughout the care episode.
Provide clinical supervision for LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel.
Complete education and competency testing specific to patient population, age, procedures, and protocols per unit standards.

Required Skills & Experience

A minimum of two (2) years of current experience in a large OR.
Ability to scrub and assist in surgical procedures.
Must exhibit teamwork, flexibility, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Completion of at least one 13-week travel assignment is required.

Preferred Skills & Experience

Experience with Epic software preferred, but training will be provided.
Experience in Orthopedics, ENT, and/or vascular procedures is a plus.

Education

Required: One of the following:

Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN)

Certifications & Licensure

Required:

State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License.
BLS certification is required.
BLS, ACLS, and PALS (if obtained) must be completed through accredited organizations.

Preferred:

PALS certification preferred.
ACLS certification preferred.

Schedule

The position follows a Monday to Friday schedule, with no scrub required.
