Senior Manager, Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting

WHO YOU ARE:The Senior Manager, Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting is primarily responsible for the preparation and oversight of QTS’ consolidated financial statement reporting and technical accounting support. This individual will collaborate across departments and with external auditors, gaining broad exposure to the Company’s operations.WHAT YOU WILL DO:Manage the preparation and review of financial statements (both QTS consolidated and stand-alone entities), footnotes, and related disclosures for external reporting purposes, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP.Technical accounting research and transaction support.Provide technical accounting guidance to resolve accounting and reporting issues, ensuring proper application of accounting standards.Stay abreast of emerging accounting pronouncements and assess their potential impact on the business.Assist in management of the Company’s share-based compensation expense.Assist in the coordination of annual audit and quarterly review activities of external auditors.Use accounting concepts, reporting experience, and analytical skills to resolve questions/issues in efficient and effective ways.Proactively identify issues and areas for improvement, including automation and standardization, to enhance efficiency and accuracy.Establish and maintain effective controls over financial reporting processes to ensure accuracy and integrity of reported financial information.Support ad hoc financial reporting requests as needed.WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:Bachelor’s degree in AccountingFive or more years of relevant accounting and/or financial reporting experienceStrong knowledge of US GAAP, as well as experience with technical accounting researchThree or more years of management experienceAdvanced Excel experiencePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Certified Public Accountant (CPA)Master’s degree in AccountingThree or more years of public accounting experienceEight or more years of relevant accounting and/or financial reporting experienceExperience with IFRS accounting and reportingPast experience includes increasingly progressive responsibility at a large companyExperience with financial reporting platforms such as WdeskKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Strong analytical/technical skills and experience analyzing and interpreting financial dataExperience partnering with a diverse group of stakeholders and managing to resultsExcellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey financial information to non-financial stakeholders clearlyDetail oriented; Conducts critical self-reviews to ensure accurate and timely work productStrategic thinking capabilities and deep understanding of GAAP and financial processesAbility to research GAAP accounting standards, document conclusions and communicate effectively across accounting and non-accounting stakeholdersCollaborative mindset with the ability to partner across departments with competing prioritiesA problem-solving mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement in financial processes, including automationExcellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with all levels of the organizationProfessional agility to adapt to changing priorities and environmentsSound organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities under strict deadlines in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work extended hours as needed#LI-LS1We conform to all the laws, statutes, and regulations concerning equal employment opportunities and affirmative action.
