Bookkeeper | New York, NY (Midtown) | Hybrid – Mon, Tue & Fri Onsite | Pay: $33–$40/hr | 3+ Month Temp About the role A well-established, vertically integrated affordable housing developer and operator is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to cover a leave of absence through Q1. This is a hybrid role working directly alongside the CFO and Treasury Manager within a 20-person accounting department. The right candidate has strong construction and/or real estate bookkeeping experience and is proficient in Acumatica. What you'll actually do Maintain accurate books and financial records across development and construction projects Support the Treasury Manager with day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting operations Process and reconcile transactions including AP, AR, and bank reconciliations Assist with month-end close activities and general ledger maintenance Support the CFO and accounting team with ad hoc reporting and financial projects as needed Ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial activity within Acumatica What we're looking for 5+ years of bookkeeping experience required Construction and/or real estate bookkeeping experience strongly preferred, ideally on the corporate/development side Solid understanding of AP, AR, bank reconciliations, and general ledger activity Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment with minimal oversight Strong attention to detail and organizational skills A full-scale affordable housing developer, builder, and operator founded in 2004 with more than 14,000 units across 13 states and over 500 employees. The accounting team is 20 people strong — structured, experienced, and fast-moving. This role sits at the corporate level supporting development and construction finance, offering meaningful exposure to a high-impact real estate organization.
