Production Supervisor

Our client is a leading plastics and packaging manufacturer based in the Cleveland, Ohio area, supplying high-quality products to customers across the USA. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on manufacturing leader who enjoys developing people, improving production performance and driving operational excellence within a fast-paced environment. The Role As Production Supervisor – 2nd Shift , you will take responsibility for the day-to-day performance of the production operation, ensuring that safety, quality, productivity and delivery targets are consistently achieved. You will lead and develop a team of production employees while working closely with Maintenance, Engineering, Quality and Operations Management to resolve issues and continuously improve manufacturing performance. Key Responsibilities Lead and supervise the 2nd Shift production team . Manage daily production activities to ensure customer requirements and schedules are achieved. Monitor safety, quality, productivity, scrap and downtime performance. Allocate manpower and resources effectively across the production operation. Coach, mentor and develop production employees. Manage attendance, performance and employee relations in line with company policies. Work closely with Maintenance and Engineering to resolve equipment and production issues. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste and minimise downtime. Ensure production procedures and company standards are consistently followed. Maintain accurate production records and reporting. Support continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives. Promote a strong culture of safety, quality and accountability. Conduct shift handovers and communicate key issues effectively with other departments and shifts. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate will have: Previous experience as a Production Supervisor, Manufacturing Supervisor, Production Manager or similar. Experience leading teams within a manufacturing environment . Strong understanding of production processes, KPIs and manufacturing best practices. Experience managing production employees and driving performance. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Excellent communication and leadership abilities. Experience working with plastics, packaging, extrusion, injection molding, converting or similar manufacturing processes is highly desirable. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement methodologies is advantageous.
