Joliet Staffing is hiring a Freezer Off Loader for a busy food distribution center in Minooka, IL . This position is responsible for safely unloading products in a freezer environment, organizing inventory, and ensuring products are accurately staged for warehouse operations. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, and comfortable working in cold temperatures.
Location: Minooka, IL
Pay: $17.00/hour
Shift: 3rd Shift
Essential Responsibilities- Unload pallets, boxes, and frozen food products from trailers and containers.
- Verify incoming shipments for accuracy and report any shortages or damages.
- Stage and organize products in designated freezer storage locations.
- Move materials safely using pallet jacks or other warehouse equipment as needed.
- Stack, wrap, and prepare pallets for storage or distribution.
- Maintain accurate inventory and assist with stock rotation (FIFO).
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and warehouse safety procedures.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) while working in freezer conditions.
- Work efficiently to meet productivity goals while maintaining quality standards.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned.
- Previous warehouse, distribution center, or freezer experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work in a cold freezer environment for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Comfortable standing, walking, bending, reaching, and performing repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Work in cold temperatures while wearing appropriate freezer PPE.
- Bend, stoop, twist, and reach throughout the workday.
