About the Role The HVDC Valve Cooling & Auxiliary Systems Commissioning Engineer will lead and execute the testing and commissioning of HVDC valve cooling systems and associated mechanical, mechanical auxiliary, and building services systems. The role requires 100% site presence during the execution phase, with project locations in Germany, Netherlands, Singapore, Indonesia, Dubai, and optionally offshore platform assignments. Lead testing and commissioning of HVDC valve cooling, mechanical auxiliary, and building management systems. Collaborate with engineering, project management, and customer representatives to ensure compliance with contractual, technical, quality, and safety requirements. Review subsystem and auxiliary system architecture, drawings, and interfaces with third‑party systems, including GEV eLumina HVDC control. Prepare and maintain commissioning documentation such as programs, procedures, ITPs, and checklists. Schedule, staff, and mobilize the site team; track actuals versus plan for this scope. Perform, manage, and support functional testing of BMS, mechanical auxiliary systems, and HVDC valve cooling systems. Report regularly to the Site Commissioning Manager and act as first point of contact for HVDC valve cooling & auxiliary systems scope. Publish test reports and follow up on quality documentation completion. Ensure that all testing and commissioning activities adhere to safety protocols and regulatory requirements. How You’ll Make an Impact By delivering AC, FACTS, and HVDC projects, you will enable safe and reliable operation of substations and transmission infrastructure, directly advancing the global energy transition. Qualifications Completed degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics engineering, energy technology, or a comparable qualification. Knowledge and experience in commissioning components such as cooling systems, HVAC, building management systems, and automation systems. Basic knowledge of electrical substation or HVDC system elements and interfaces. Strong health‑and‑safety mindset aligned with international standards, with the ability to identify and halt unsafe work. Understanding of electrical and mechanical schematics, wiring diagrams, interlocking logic, and communication schemes. Fluent in English; additional language skills are a plus. Willingness to work on construction sites in Germany and abroad, and on offshore platforms if required. German driver’s licence classB or equivalent.
