Medical Assistant - per diem - 8 hour - Day Shift

Job TitleSalary Range: $36.42 - $41.40 plus applicable per diem differentialPosition SummaryUnder the direction and supervision of an MD, RN, or Sr. Office Manager, assumes responsibility and accountability for assignments for a designated time frame, assisting staff in providing patient care according to established methods/policies/standards of IJJR Clinic. In addition to performing the essential functions of the job, may also be assigned other duties as required.QualificationsHigh school graduate or equivalent work experience, including ability to read, write and comprehend medical terminology and English. Good verbal and written communication skills.Completion of a Medical Assistant Certification.Emotional stamina to work in a stressful environment and relate to patients, hospital staff, and visitors.Current CPR Certification.Typing speed 30wpm. Minimum 2-3 years experience with Windows operating system and Windows based programs required. Internet skills desired.Must include 2 year minimum on the job recent experience necessary; specifically, knowledge in Orthopedic Surgery office.Able to exercise appropriate decision making in determining follow up actions, work effectively under changing work assignments.Familiar with EMR (prefer EPIC and Centricity).Washington Hospital Health System does not utilize any form of electronic chatting, such as Google chat for the purposes of interviewing candidates for employment.
