Job Title: Exercise Specialist

Location: Onsite at 4710 South State Rd., Ann Arbor, MI

Schedule: 7am-2pm (Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri, & Sat).

Compensation:

• $17.50–$27.50/hour (based on experience)

Role Overview

In this role, you will:

• Coach members through group and one-on-one workouts
• Provide guidance, motivation, and accountability
• Help maintain a positive, organized training environment

Key Responsibilities

Coaching & Member Support

• Guide members through exercise programs in group and one-on-one settings
• Ensure proper exercise technique and safety
• Provide encouragement, accountability, and energy during sessions
• Build positive relationships with members

Session Experience

• Start and end sessions on time
• Help create an organized, clean, and professional exercise environment
• Foster a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere

Communication

• Communicate relevant member updates to the broader team of health coaches, dieticians, and exercise physiologists
• Flag concerns such as injuries, medical issues, inconsistency, or disengagement

Performance Expectations

• Members feel supported, welcomed, and motivated
• Sessions run smoothly and on schedule
• Coaching is attentive, safe, and encouraging
• Strong reliability and consistency in attendance

Qualifications

Required

• Passion for fitness, exercise, health, and coaching
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Reliable and punctual
• Availability to consistently work the morning shift 7am-2pm (Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri, Sat)

Preferred (not required)

• Pursuing or completed degree in Exercise Science or a related field
• Professional certification (e.g., NASM, ACE, ACSM)
• Prior coaching or personal training experience
