PHG assists small to medium sized businesses with revenue of $1-$100 million with accounting/bookkeeping, monthly reporting, forecasting/budgeting, implementing key performance indicators and other strategic financial advisory services. PHG also has a buyside M&A arm where it works with blue-chip multibillion dollar private equity firms to originate and execute deals.

Role Description:

\n

This role serves as a strategic financial partner and trusted advisor to a portfolio clients, providing fractional CFO services that drive business growth and profitability. You'll work with team members to support the entire FP&A function from annual strategic planning and budget development to monthly financial advisory and performance insights. This is a hands-on CFO role where you'll roll up your sleeves to build financial models and reporting packages while also serving as a strategic thought partner to business owners and leadership teams. You'll translate complex financial data into actionable business strategies, challenge assumptions, and guide critical decision-making. This position is remote and requires availability during U.S. business hours.

Qualifications:

\n

\n
• Minimum 2 years of experience in FP&A, financial due diligence, or fractional CFO/advisory roles
\n
• Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes (budgeting, financial closure, reporting, etc.)
\n
• Expert in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
\n
• Prior experience independently developing, maintaining, and enhancing reporting models and monthly reporting packages (PowerPoint)
\n
• Familiarity with QuickBooks preferred
\n
• Solid understanding of facility services / construction accounting processes (job costing, revenue recognition / WIP adjustment, drop shipped inventory model, and in-house vs. subcontracted labor structuring)

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities:

\n

\n
• Serve as partner and advisor to portfolio of clients, building trusted relationships with owners and leadership teams
\n
• Support CFO-level FP&A work: budgets, forecasts, cash flow models, and variance analysis; and help prepare insights for strategic planning conversations with owners
\n
• Develop and maintain excel based budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling tools for clients
\n
• Develop PowerPoint based monthly performance reports to provide critical insights in delivering compelling strategic recommendations that will drive improved performance and optimal resource allocation
\n
• Lead ad hoc analysis as needed, drive process and system improvements to ensure continued evolution of efficiencies
\n
• Execute operational tasks independently (e.g., development of tools / templates for client use, tasks requested by client, slide deck development, etc.)
\n
• Contribute to firm-wide best practices, tools, and methodologies
\n
• Quality check one’s own work product to ensure that it addresses the subject question, flows logically, and is free from error
\n
• Support client M&A and succession planning
\n
• Support automation efforts and AI leverage across client delivery and internal operations
