Join a well-established Emergency Department in Clearwater, Florida, providing care in a low-acuity, single-coverage emergency setting. This one-year locums opportunity offers 12-hour shifts, a supportive clinical team, and welcomes both experienced physicians and new graduates.

Clinical Details & Responsibilities

Practice Setting:

Hospital Emergency Department

Emergency Department Information:

10 emergency department bays

Low-acuity patient population

Admission rate of less than 5%

Average patient volume of 2.0-2.5 patients per hour

Clinical Responsibilities:

Evaluation and treatment of emergency department patients

Medical stabilization and disposition

Performance of standard emergency medicine procedures as clinically indicated

Collaboration with nursing staff and ancillary personnel

Patient Mix:

Predominantly low-acuity emergency medicine cases

Triage Model:

Nurse/APP triage for lower-acuity patients is available on Mondays during peak season

Support & Technology

Support Staff:

Standard Emergency Department nursing and ancillary support

Single physician coverage model

EMR System:

Meditech FLG

Requirements

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM) - Required

ACLS Certification - Required at time of submission

PALS Certification - Required at time of submission

New graduates welcome

Primary Care physicians with Emergency Medicine experience will be considered with an approved waiver
