We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer for our Azure Cloud based Data Platform Team with strong technical foundation in Java, REST APIs, Microservices, Cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP), Kubernetes, Kafka, Event Hubs, Elasticsearch, Snowflake. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Focus on innovation and improving delivery effectiveness by driving product development features across the organization in software development, deployment, and infrastructure consistency. Provide standardized enterprise solutions for cloud infrastructure and application deployment across multiple products. Apply appropriate software engineering patterns utilizing a meta‑driven systems approach to build robust and scalable systems. Demonstrate expertise in object‑oriented and functional programming and apply those skills to developing Blue Yonder products. Influence fellow engineers by proposing software designs, providing feedback on software designs and implementation. Leverage experienced problem‑solving skills to triage operational issues and eliminate repeat occurrences. Work with a global team across the US, Canada, India, and Germany; be a quick learner in a fast‑growing environment. Our current technical environment Software/Tools: Java, Python, Groovy, GitHub, Node.js, React.js, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, SonarQube, Codacy, Checkmarx, GitHub Advanced Security, Black Duck Hub, BlazeMeter, Artifactory, Ansible, Docker, etc. Application Architecture: Scalable, Resilient, event‑driven, secure multi‑tenant Microservices architecture. Cloud Architecture: Microsoft Azure (ARM templates, AKS, Virtual Networks, Event Hub, Azure AD). Frameworks/Others: Kubernetes, Kafka, Elasticsearch, Spark, NoSQL, RDBMS, Spring Boot, Snowflake. What you’ll do Develop quality software (including effective unit test code) according to clean code principles and Blue Yonder standards. Participate in team activities such as backlog grooming, planning, daily stand‑ups, and retrospectives. Translate business requirements to user stories and actively seek stakeholder feedback. Take the lead in design of individual stories and translate designs to subtasks. Consider information security aspects while coding and reviewing others’ code. Stay up‑to‑date with technology and research latest industry trends. Be perceived as the expert in a small designated technical area and the go‑to person for related implementation and operational issues. Evaluate and coach other engineers on technical and interpersonal best practices. Provide support/guidance for day‑to‑day operations and systems. What we are looking for Bachelor’s degree (STEM preferred) and minimum 8 years of experience in software development. Ability to debug and diagnose issues in complex enterprise applications. Hands‑on experience and proficiency in the following technical skills: Java Spring Boot Python Bash Web technologies (HTML, CSS, XML, JSON) Object‑oriented design (OOD) Linux/Unix & Windows platforms Must have GitHub, GitHub Actions, DevSecOps domain knowledge. Intermediate understanding of virtualization, private, hybrid and public cloud computing concepts. Intermediate understanding of key areas such as Cloud services: IaaS, PaaS and SaaS on major cloud hosting platforms (Azure). The salary range reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual salary will be commensurate with skills, experience, certifications or licenses and other relevant factors. In addition, this role will be eligible to participate in either the annual performance bonus or commission program, determined by the nature of the position.
