Director of Operations

We are seeking a Director of Operations to build and lead our construction delivery organization at Tarkett Sports Construction, Mid Atlantic . Based in Conshohocken, PA, reporting to the Regional Vice President.

What you'll do: Project Delivery & Execution • Manage all construction projects) from GMP negotiation through closeout • Manage buyout, subcontractor procurement, and change order processes • Own project schedule, budget, and cost-to-complete forecasting • Drive project-level P&L - deliver at or above bid margin • Manage preconstruction-to-construction handoffs • Serve as primary client-facing delivery leader for owners from NTP through warranty • Support Go/No-Go decisions and pursuit strategy with delivery credibility Team Build & Leadership • Recruit, hire, and develop Project Managers, Superintendents, and Project Engineers • Build a bench capable of running multiple concurrent projects without VP involvement on every job • Establish operating cadence with peer leaders (Self-Perform, Preconstruction, Sales) • Report to the RVP on delivery performance, org build progress, and risk exposure Systems, Processes & Training • Design and document project delivery SOPs - from project setup and kickoff through closeout • Stand up project controls: cost reporting, WIP schedules, earned value tracking, monthly reviews • Implement Procore workflows and train the team on RFI, submittal, QC, daily log, and drawing management • Develop QA/QC programs with standardized inspection checklists and hold points • Build repeatable, auditable subcontractor procurement and buyout processes • Create project reporting templates (cost reports, schedule narratives, risk registers) as the regional standard • Train new hires and existing staff on all delivery systems - adoption is as important as design Safety & Compliance • Drive zero-recordable safety culture on all construction projects • Ensure full compliance with TSP safety standards and OSHA requirements What you need for success: Experience • 15+ years in construction project management, 5+ years at Project Executive or senior PM level • Must be GC-side experience at a commercial general contractor - not owner's rep or CM advisor • Projects in the $20M-$75M+ range under GMP, Cost-Plus, or CM-at-Risk delivery • Institutional sectors: K-12, higher ed, municipal, healthcare, or sports/recreation facilities • Built and led project teams - hired PMs and Supers, not just inherited them • Implemented project delivery systems and trained teams on new processes Technical Skills • CPM scheduling (P6 or equivalent), cost reporting, WIP preparation, earned value analysis • Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite • Sage, Spectrum, or equivalent construction ERP experience preferred • Deep knowledge of the Texas construction market - subs, owners, permitting, competition Education & Certifications • Bachelor's degree or extensive experience in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field • MBA or advanced degree a plus • OSHA 30-Hour required; CCM, PMP, or DBIA certifications a plus Other • Strong communication and client relationship skills - owner-facing from day one • Travel across Mid Atlantic region as projects require What you can expect: • A culture built on teamwork, respect, and entrepreneurial spirit • The opportunity to build a construction delivery organization from scratch with full regional leadership support • A seat at the leadership table with direct influence on strategy, growth, and operations • Competitive compensation: base salary, performance incentive, vehicle allowance, and milestone-based retention bonus • Leadership that invests in your growth and career development • A fast-paced, sports-driven environment where your work builds world-class venues Sounds like your kind of team?
