Materials Buyer

Our client is seeking a Raw Materials Buyer to support the procurement of materials for industrial fabrication and electrical equipment manufacturing. This role is responsible for sourcing and purchasing copper, steel, aluminum, bus bar, sheet metal, and other production materials while ensuring competitive pricing, quality, and on-time delivery to support manufacturing operations. Responsibilities: Purchase raw materials including copper, steel, aluminum, sheet metal, bus bar, and fabrication materials. Negotiate pricing, contracts, and lead times with suppliers. Manage purchase orders and ensure timely material deliveries. Monitor inventory levels and support production schedules. Resolve supplier quality and delivery issues. Partner with Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain to meet manufacturing needs. Identify cost-saving opportunities and evaluate supplier performance. Maintain accurate purchasing records within the ERP system. Qualifications 3+ years of purchasing experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment. Experience sourcing metals and raw materials for fabrication or electrical manufacturing. Strong negotiation and supplier management skills. Experience with ERP/MRP systems. Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
