Building Performance Engineer

Snapshot / Role Overview
We're seeking a Building Performance Engineer in Seattle, WA to analyze and optimize building systems for energy efficiency and operational performance.

Impact
- Identify energy savings opportunities that reduce client operating costs
- Support sustainability goals through data-driven building optimization
- Enhance building comfort and occupant satisfaction through system improvements
- Build expertise in emerging energy technologies and smart building solutions

Responsibilities
- Conduct building energy audits and assessments to identify optimization opportunities
- Analyze building automation system data to evaluate performance trends
- Develop energy conservation measures and calculate projected savings
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for clients
- Support utility incentive program applications and documentation
- Model building energy performance using industry-standard software
- Collaborate with controls engineers on system optimization strategies
- Monitor implemented measures to verify energy savings
- Stay current on energy codes, standards, and best practices

Requirements
Must-Haves
- 3+ years of experience in building energy analysis or performance engineering
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or related field
- Proficiency with energy modeling software (eQUEST, EnergyPlus, or similar)
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems and building automation
- Excellent analytical and data interpretation skills

Nice-to-Haves
- CEM, CEA, or BEMP certification
- Experience with utility incentive programs in the Pacific Northwest
- LEED accreditation or experience with green building standards
