Travel RN - Telemetry - Progressive Care Unit

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a PCU/Telemetry position requiring an Alabama or compact RN license and at least 2 years of telemetry/stepdown experience.

Job Details

• Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of a hospital setting,
• Position spans MS/Tele, Tele, and PCU/Stepdown work settings,
• Patient ratio of 1:5,
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM),
• Every other weekend (EOW) required,
• Floating to MedSurg units required,

Job Requirements

• Active RN license (Alabama or Compact) required, pending license accepted,
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (preferred),
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required,
• Experience with cardiac monitoring and emergency response required,
• Ability to start IVs and manage Heparin protocols required,
• Ability to manage cardiac drips without titration required,
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias,
• Experience with rapid response/code teams,
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration,
• Experience with central and peripheral line care/management,
• Experience with respiratory care including nasal cannula and oxygen administration,
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use,
• Any charting system experience accepted,

Additional Information

• Provide cardiac monitoring and emergency response care to telemetry and stepdown patients,
• Manage dysrhythmias and utilize rapid response/code teams as needed,
• Administer IV therapy, blood products, and manage central and peripheral lines,
• Provide respiratory support including oxygen administration and non-invasive airway management,
• Must work at least one designated holiday: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, or Christmas Day,
• Requested time off (RTO) limited to a maximum of 7 days,

• Prior permanent employees of the facility are not eligible for this travel position,
• Local candidates within 60 miles are accepted at a lower pay rate,
• Candidates residing more than 60 miles away qualify for the travel pay rate
