People Operations Compliance Manager

Location: All Locations in the United States, with preference given to CA or WA locationsWork Arrangement: Remote Typical Day in the LifeThe People Operations Compliance Manager leads the firm's HR compliance function, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Provides strategic guidance on employment practices, policy administration, risk management, workplace investigations, leave administration, and accommodation processes while promoting consistent, accurate, and legally compliant HR practices across the organization.A typical day in the life of a People Operations Compliance Manager may include:Overseeing HR compliance programs, policies, and procedures to mitigate organizational risk.Monitoring and interpreting federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and implements necessary policy and process updates, including jurisdiction-specific requirements.Providing guidance on employment law, policy interpretation, employee relations, workplace investigations, and compliance matters, including FMLA, ADA, EEOC, and wage and hour requirements.Overseeing leave management, return-to-work, and workplace accommodation programs, including the ADA interactive process, and manages the team responsible for administering these services in compliance with applicable laws and organizational policies.Leading compliance audits and reviews related to wage and hour laws, employee classifications, recordkeeping, HR practices, and other employment requirements.Partnering with legal to ensure employment documents comply with federal and state laws.Overseeing regulatory reporting, compliance documentation, and confidential records.Partnering with HR leaders, business leaders, legal counsel, payroll, benefits, and HR operations to ensure compliant and integrated HR programs and practices.Developing and delivering compliance-related training and educational resources.Partnering with Learning & Development to roll out annual state compliance training.Identifying compliance risks, analyzing trends, and recommending corrective actions, process improvements, and operational enhancements.Serving as a subject-matter expert and provides consultation to HR teams and leaders on sensitive and complex compliance matters.Who You AreYou have a bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Legal Studies, or a related field required.You have 7+ years of progressive HR experience with responsibility for compliance, employee relations, policy administration, HR operations, leave administration, or workplace accommodations required, preferably in state of CA or WA. You have an HR certification, such as SPHR or SHRM-SCP, preferred.You have advanced knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including FMLA, ADA, EEOC, wage and hour, and multi-state leave requirements.You have strong knowledge of HR policies, compliance practices, risk management principles, leave administration, and workplace accommodation processes.You have the ability to analyze complex issues and data, exercise sound judgment, and provide practical business guidance.You have strong investigation, problem-solving, decision-making, documentation, and process-improvement skills.You have excellent communication, consultation, training delivery, and relationship-building skills.You can lead team members, manage multiple priorities, and maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.You are proficient with Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.Must be authorized to work in the United States now or in the future without visa sponsorship. Eide Bailly complies with all local/state regulations regarding displaying ranges.
