Sr. Systems Administrator [Remote]

JOB SUMMARY:

The Sr. Systems Administrator supports and maintains enterprise Linux/UNIX systems across on-premises and Microsoft Azure environments, with a strong focus on RHEL and Ubuntu. This role is responsible for system administration, troubleshooting, patching, upgrades, migrations, security, performance monitoring, and automation while supporting Azure virtual machines and related infrastructure. The position works closely with technical teams to resolve complex issues, support production changes, maintain system reliability, and participate in a 24x7x365 on-call rotation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's Degree information technology, computer science, or a related field (Required)
• One year of relevant education may be substituted for one year of required work experience or one year of relevant professional-level work experience may be substituted for one year of required education.
• Minimum 2 Years of Experience 2+ years of experience in an information technology or healthcare systems environment, preferably focused on administering and supporting enterprise platforms. (Required)
• Experience supporting Linux virtual machines and related services in Microsoft Azure, including networking, storage, backup, and recovery.
• Ability to perform operating system upgrades and routine lifecycle activities across on-premises and Azure environments.
• Working knowledge of high availability, capacity planning, performance tuning, and automation tools such as Ansible or Terraform.
• Ability to diagnose complex incidents, follow operational standards, and escalate architecture-level issues when appropriate.
• Install, configure, maintain, patch, and troubleshoot Linux systems across on-premises and Azure platforms.
• Administer Azure-based Linux virtual machines and associated networking, storage, backup, monitoring, and security controls.
• Perform system deployments, upgrades, migrations, vulnerability remediation, and lifecycle management activities.
• Monitor system availability and performance, resolve incidents, and document root cause and corrective actions.
• Automate repeatable administrative tasks using scripts, configuration management, and version control.
• Work with customers and internal teams to implement solutions, test changes, and support production rollouts.
• Execute work in accordance with change management, security, and documentation requirements.
• Provide OS-level troubleshooting support and share technical knowledge with other team members.
• Build and manage virtual machines in Hyper-V and Azure environments.
• Support enterprise compute and High-Performance Computing (HPC) environments as assigned.
• Assist Systems Engineers with technical projects, platform improvements, testing, and implementation activities.
• Maintain operational procedures, system documentation, inventory, and support records.
• Maintain current knowledge of enterprise Linux, Azure, security, and automation technologies.
• Complete relevant technical training and apply new skills to assigned systems and services.
• Collaborate with technical teams and provide practical guidance to less experienced administrators when needed.
• Support systems located in geographically distributed datacenters and Azure regions.
• Operate in a mission-critical environment with established availability, security, and performance requirements.

Salary Range: Minimum $30.53/visit - Maximum $53.44/visit. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
