Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Telemetry/PCU RN for a Cardiology unit requiring at least one prior travel contract and Level II trauma experience.

Details

• Cardiology Progressive Care Unit (Cardiology N3) within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes CABG, ICD, pacemaker, and vascular surgical patients on cardiac drips (Nitro, Cardene, Heparin, Dilt, Dopamine, etc.)
• Patient ratios of 1:4 days and 1:6 nights on a 24-bed unit
• Tele tech unit monitoring in use
• Uses EPIC EMR
• Days shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 36 hours/week
• Required to work every 4th weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Required to float across all campuses (Iowa Methodist MC, Iowa Lutheran, and Iowa Methodist West) within pertinent skillset/unit

Requirements

• Active RN license (Iowa or compact) required
• Current BLS and ACLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• Minimum 24 months of Telemetry/Cardiac, Stepdown, or Progressive Care experience required
• Required experience with ICD and pacemaker patient populations
• Required experience caring for CABG and vascular surgical patients
• Cardiac rhythm interpretation experience required
• Cardiac drip/titration experience required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Experience with Alaris IV pump and wound vac required
• Level II trauma experience required; Level I trauma experience highly preferred
• Must have completed at least one travel contract within the previous 18 months
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Supervisory performance evaluation or reference from within the past 24 months preferred

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry-level nursing care to cardiac and post-surgical patients on a progressive care unit
• Required to work 1-2 of the 3 upcoming Winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year) unless the unit is closed
• Solid navy blue scrubs required
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify as a non-local candidate
• Past UnityPoint Health employees (FTE or PRN float pool) are restricted from travel assignments at other UPH facilities in any market within 12 months of separation
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
