This classification is subject to the Post and Bid process. The reporting location for this position is 1245 N Spring Street, Los Angeles, CA, 90012. The Angeles District is responsible for 25 of California State Park's units and sub-units and serves ones of the most diverse and populated areas of California. PARK MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT works under supervision of the Park Maintenance Chief I and direction from the Park Maintenance Worker II, the Park Maintenance Assistant will do routine cleanup and unskilled maintenance; perform various housekeeping, grounds keeping and minor maintenance tasks; answer routine questions from the public as necessary; complete miscellaneous reports; lead and train less experienced maintenance personnel in housekeeping and minor grounds work. May lead a crew of seasonal employees doing cleanup and other unskilled work during peak seasons.
Will be required to work weekends, nights, holidays, and irregular hours.


The work schedule is Tuesday to Saturday 6:30 am to 3:00 pm. .

Training and Development Assignments may be considered.

Working Conditions
Will walk on uneven surfaces and navigate stairs. Will work in outdoor conditions in hot or cold weather and in dust or dirt. May have extensive exposure to dirt, dust, fumes, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises. Typical work activities may involve office and desk work as well as field visits, hiking to sites, working outdoors in all types of weather, altitudes, and seasons.

If in a different classification, you must meet the minimum qualifications (see Minimum Qualifications section and associated links above).
