Call Center Representative

ACHC is a Federally Qualified Health Center and has licensed primary care clinics. We provide Family Medicine and Dental Care, with additional specialists in Behavioral Health, Chiropractic, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Gynecology, Pediatrics, Podiatry and Optometry. ACHC Clinics are located across Fresno, Kings and Tulare counties.SUMMARYThe initial point of contact into the health center. Handles all incoming calls and makes outbound calls to patients and the public in a kind and professional manner.RESONSIBLITIESAnswers questions and offers non-medical guidance via the telephone or computer with individuals on a continual basis.Schedules appointments.Exchanges pertinent and non-routine information with patients and medical office.Maintains documentation of calls.Collaborates with the medical front office to assist in improving patient experience.Supports the delivery of quality patient care through providing timely and accurate information exchange.Provides resources as appropriate to assist patients.JOB QUALIFICATIONSAbility to always demonstrate the highest level of performance and behavior standards.Excellent customer service skills.The ability to effectively and respectfully handle dissatisfied patients.Demonstrated attention to detail.Ability to multi-task and be flexible.Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgement and decision making.Ability to be a team player; support and assist team members.Ability to communicate clearly.Ability to plan and be organized.Ability to work well under pressure and take initiative.Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information and company records.Ability to exhibit good interpersonal communications skills.Professional appearance.Ability to convey a positive and professional image to the public and patients.Demonstrated proficiency in various PC applications, including E-mail, Internet and Microsoft products.Demonstrated ability to learn EHR and follow instructions in that system.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCEHigh school graduate or its equivalent.Preferred experience in medical front office procedures and processes.Preferred knowledge of medical terminology.Bilingual in English/Spanish required.Prior experience working with underserved populations preferred.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSHearing: Adequate to perform job duties in person and over the telephone.Speaking: Must be able to communicate clearly with patients in person and over the telephone.Vision: Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens.Cognitive: Aptitude to complete tasks, including abilities such as learning, remembering, focusing, categorizing, and integrating information for decision making, problem-solving, and comprehending.Other: Requires occasional lifting and carrying items weighing up to 20 pounds unassisted.
