Travel RN - Neonatal ICU

American Traveler is hiring an experienced NICU RN for a Level 4 NICU position at a top-ranked children's hospital in San Diego, CA, requiring a minimum of 2 years of Level 4 NICU experience and a CA RN license. Requirements Active CA RN license required; pending license considered if an ETA for posting is available Current BLS and Advanced NRP certifications required; PALS preferred Minimum 2 years of recent Level 4 NICU experience required Strong Level 3 NICU experience with surgical experience on newborns may be considered in lieu of Level 4 experience Cardiac experience required Proficiency with complex line management involving multiple drips, as well as pre- and post-op care Must have own reliable transportation for floating to satellite campuses 2 professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration Responsibilities NICU setting within a nationally recognized, Magnet-designated, Level 1 trauma, academic teaching children's hospital with 60 staffed beds Level 4 NICU patient population, including pre- and post-operative newborns and critically ill neonates Hands-on experience expected with oscillators, conventional ventilators, CPAP, nasal cannula specialty gases, PICC lines, Broviacs, UAC/UVC/PAL lines, trachs, ostomies, and G-tubes Charting performed in Epic 3x12-hour shifts; variable or straight nights available (7:00–19:00 days or 19:00–7:00 nights) Weekend availability required with full scheduling flexibility; no fixed weekend requirement No on-call responsibilities Floating required within scope to meet facility needs, including to PICU and CVICU, as well as NICU satellite campuses (Rancho Springs, Palomar, Scripps Encinitas, Scripps La Jolla, and Scripps Mercy) Mileage reimbursed when floating from home base NICU to satellite locations Free parking available for travelers First-time travelers with Level 4 NICU experience are welcome to apply Candidates must note any Level 3 surgical NICU background explicitly when applying Maximum of 6 days of RTO for the duration of the contract; all time‑off requests must be submitted at the time of application Local candidates are not eligible for this position Scrubs of any color are acceptable Hospital is recognized as a Top 10 Best Children's Hospital by U.S. News & World Report and holds Great Place To Work Certification Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts Job ID: P-724368 Open Positions: 1 #J-18808-Ljbffr American Traveler
