Sales Coordinator I - Intermodal

Summary Company: ArcBest Location: Fayetteville, AR Workspace: On Campus Pay Type: Hourly, Full-Time Job ID: 28609 Job Description The Intermodal Carrier Sales Support Coordinator executes, tracks, and creates solutions for intermodal shipments secured by ArcBest. This position is fast paced, demanding, and requires time management skills and concentration. The Intermodal Sales Coordinator has a vast array of responsibilities and is exposed to all aspects of transportation, intermodal, and brokerage operations. Responsibilities Help maintain rail schedules, railroad and dray company cost, and accessorials. Monitor freight activity and take appropriate action to resolve problems in order to ensure a high level of error free and on-time service. Secure and execution of dray capacity for unplanned/planed dray moves. Other duties and projects, as assigned. Develop strong working relationships with customers and vendors. Manage customer trailer pools and movement of equipment to avoid storage or detention costs and assist in the general accountability of equipment. Help maintain vendor profile information. Provide customer service including any special reporting or customer website compliance. Work directly with ArcBest Sales and Intermodal Carrier Sales Representatives to secure shipments. Coordinate with other employees, drivers, rail carriers and outside vendors to prevent potential problems and provide service to our customers. Ensure that shipments are correctly rated and that all payables are posted. Requirements Education Bachelor's Degree, preferred Experience will be considered in lieu of formal education. Experience Prior intermodal operations experience, preferred Computer Skills Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, preferred Competencies Data Gathering and Reporting Decision Making and Critical Thinking Developing Others Negotiating Operational Functions Performance Management Relationship Management Resource Management Other Details Work Hours Generally, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm with occasional irregular hours depending on workload. Work hours vary based on scheduling to provide market coverage during normal business hours with irregular and on call hours. Travel Requirements Minimal (0%-25%) Compensation This is an hourly position paid biweekly.
