Quick Facts Location: Lafayette, LA Start Date: Negotiable End Date/Duration: As specified in assignment Shift: Mon-Fri, 8-hour clinic + On-call (Emergency Room coverage) Hours/week: 40 Employment Type: Contract / Locums Certifications: Active APRN or PA license in Louisiana, Board Certified/Eligible in specialty recommended Experience: Relevant experience preferred but not required Pay & Benefits Hourly Pay Rate: $1.00/hour (for estimation purposes; actual rate to be discussed upon application) Pay package discussed upon application Benefits: Competitive malpractice coverage, flexible scheduling, support from a leading healthcare team, and professional growth opportunities What You’ll Do Perform inpatient rounding and surgical consults for cardiovascular surgery patients Provide emergency room call coverage as needed Assist with perioperative patient management and follow-up care Support surgical procedures including CABG, thoracotomies, lobectomies, AAA repairs, arterial bypasses, and valve replacements Collaborate with a team of 2 cardiovascular surgeons and 3 APPs to deliver comprehensive cardiac care Manage a caseload of approximately 15-20 post-op patients weekly Participate in clinic activities once a week What You Need Active licensed APRN or PA with current credentials in Louisiana Prior experience in cardiovascular/surgical units preferred Excellent communication and team collaboration skills Ability to handle emergency situations effectively About the Assignment This assignment offers the opportunity to work within a highly skilled team in a busy cardiovascular surgery program. The facility performs approximately 90 surgeries per month, providing ample exposure and the chance to enhance your skills in advanced cardiac procedures.
