Registered Respiratory Therapist

The Registered Respiratory Therapist provides and administers all aspects of Respiratory Care Therapy and supportive equipment. This role falls under the supervision of the Director of Respiratory Services. Responsibilities include providing respiratory therapy under medical direction. You will be involved in the education, treatment, management, and diagnostic evaluation of patients with cardiopulmonary system deficiencies. Assistance with intubation and ventilator set-up and management is required. You will gather all information necessary to evaluate patient needs properly. This includes patient-specific disease education and consultations with other healthcare professionals as appropriate. Developing rapport and mutual respect with patients and caregivers is essential. You will document education provided to patients and caregivers based on identified needs. Other duties and projects may be assigned as needed. Adhering to organizational competencies and standards of behavior is required. Lifting a minimum of 5 lbs., pushing and pulling a minimum of 5 lbs., and standing for a minimum of 1 hour a day are necessary physical requirements. Regular contact with medical personnel and visitors is expected. Weekend and holiday work is required as needed. There is no on-call or float requirement for this position.
