This role is not about executing specifications; it is about defining them. Decisions are made by those closest to the hardware and strong technical reasoning carries weight here.What You'll DoOwn Electrical Architecture Define and guide board-level and subsystem-level electrical architecture across digital and mixed-signal designs. Ensure alignment with system requirements, performance targets, and safety expectations appropriate for avionics applications.Lead Complex Hardware Development Drive schematic capture, layout guidance, component selection, interface definition, and validation strategy for processor-based systems incorporating high-speed digital interfaces, memory, data buses, and FPGA integration.Design for Flight-Critical Performance Ensure designs meet the reliability, environmental, and certification expectations required for avionics platforms. Participate in design reviews with rigor and hold the bar high for execution quality.Guide and Elevate the Team Provide technical mentorship to engineers across experience levels. Establish strong engineering practices and help raise the standard of hardware development across the organization.Close the Loop with Manufacturing & Test Work directly with manufacturing and integration teams to debug, iterate, and refine hardware. Maintain tight feedback loops to continuously improve robustness and producibility.Improve Engineering Operations Refine workflows, tools, and processes to increase efficiency and technical clarity while maintaining high engineering standards.What We're Looking ForBachelor's degree in electrical engineering (master's preferred).10+ years of experience designing and integrating PCB-based hardware systems.Deep experience with digital processor-based systems, mixed-signal design, and complex interfaces.Strong schematic and layout collaboration experience using modern ECAD tools (Altium preferred).Demonstrated ability to lead technically, through architecture decisions, design reviews, and engineering influence.Experience operating in regulated, high-reliability, or safety-critical environments is highly valued.Why AvidyneWe are large enough to build sophisticated, certified avionics systems and small enough that your decisions shape our products.You will:See your designs move from concept to production within the same facility.Work in an engineer-led environment where technical credibility matters.Contribute to hardware that ultimately flies.Have access to flight training and the opportunity to earn your pilot's license thereby gaining firsthand perspective on the systems you help build.We believe high standards and a sustainable pace are not mutually exclusive.
