About the Role
The Company is seeking a Managing Director of Public Markets to lead and oversee the investment and management of the public market asset class for the Trust Fund. The successful candidate will be responsible for strategic investment leadership, multi-asset oversight, and portfolio construction with a focus on risk-aware strategies. This role requires a sophisticated investment leader with a strong background in corporate governance, sustainability, and the ability to provide executive-level direction across public equity, fixed income, and ESG/sustainable investment platforms. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of economic and policy factors that impact financial markets and will be expected to contribute to the total-fund asset allocation and overall pension plan strategy. Candidates for the Managing Director position must have a baccalaureate degree in a relevant field, with a preference for a graduate degree or CFA designation, and a minimum of 10 years' investment experience. The role demands a leader with a proven track record in portfolio and manager selection, as well as the ability to inspire, supervise, and develop a team of high-performing investment professionals. Essential competencies include strategic vision, technical proficiency, and outstanding executive communication skills. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative partner, adept at stakeholder engagement, and will operate within a low-ego, high-accountability environment, fostering a culture of professional growth and transparency.
