Night Auditor Highgate is a leading real estate investment and hospitality management company with over $15 billion of assets under management and a global portfolio of more than 400 hotels spanning North America, Europe, the Caribbean, and Latin America. Location: Residence Inn Harrisburg, 4480 Lewis Rd, Harrisburg, PA 17111. Compensation: Hourly. Overview The Night Auditor is responsible for reconciling all hotel cashier transactions; reviewing, organizing, and compiling management reports on a timely basis, and ensuring the accuracy of guest billings and city ledger transactions. The role also requires effective communication of concerns to all levels of management and performing guest service agent duties as required, including check‑in, check‑out, switchboard operation, and reservations. Responsibilities Work with and understand financial information and data, and basic arithmetic functions. Be willing to cross‑train in other accounting or hotel‑related areas. Prioritize job functions to meet deadlines. Perform guest services functions as required (check‑in/out, take reservations, handle calls). Audit and reconcile financial and statistical reports. Prepare and distribute daily reports (e.g., Daily Operating Report, Discount Programs, Tax Reports) according to hotel standards. Prepare and distribute month‑end reports. Audit and reconcile all Front Desk and Food & Beverage cashier work. Audit, reconcile, consolidate, and transmit all credit card transactions promptly. Ensure accuracy of all numbers reported, including statistics. Input and update financial information into the corporate communications network. Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and annual data processing system functions as required. Keep management informed of any unusual operational or financial events or policy deviations. Ensure overall guest satisfaction. Respond to governmental inquiries when received. Handle guest requests promptly and professionally. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, or one year of progressive experience in a hotel or related field. Guest service experience preferred. Computer knowledge/skills required. Flexible to work long hours and shifts, including late/overnight shifts. Physical ability to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally. Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times. Strong written and verbal communication skills with all levels of employees and guests. Effective listening, understanding, and clarifying of concerns. Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines. Attitude of attentiveness, friendliness, and customer service orientation in all encounters. Attend required hotel meetings and trainings. Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards. Maintain high personal appearance and grooming standards, including proper uniform and nametag. Comply with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations to promote safe and efficient operations. Maximize productivity, identify problem areas, and assist in implementing solutions. Handle problems proactively, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving issues as necessary. Understand and apply complex information from various sources to meet objectives. Cross‑train in other hotel‑related areas as needed. Maintain confidentiality of information.
