Job Summary The Veterinary Assistant is a key member of the hospital team who supports and assists veterinarians and veterinary technicians, ensuring the safety of pets, clients and other associates, and maintaining the continuity of quality veterinary care. Responsibilities Support veterinarians and veterinary technicians during procedures and examinations. Maintain a safe and clean clinical environment for pets, clients, and staff. Assist in the administration of medications, vaccinations, and treatments. Educate clients about pet health, preventive care, and post‑care instructions. Assist with clinical record keeping and inventory management. Qualifications Certificate of completion from a NAVTA‑approved veterinary assistant program or equivalent education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Strong communication and customer‑service skills. Ability to work well in a fast‑paced clinical setting. Preparedness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed. Compensation The pay range for this role is $17.60 – $22.49 per hour, based on the candidate’s experience, skill level, and education. The specific rate may vary depending on location and applicable minimum wage laws.
