Duration: 12-Month Contract with Potential for Extension and Full-Time Conversion
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Calibration Technician III to support calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and documentation activities for critical inspection, measurement, and test equipment in a highly regulated medical device manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring equipment accuracy, reliability, and compliance with quality system requirements while collaborating with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Facilities teams.
The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on calibration expertise, experience working within GMP-regulated environments, and a proven ability to troubleshoot complex instrumentation issues while maintaining compliance with cGMP and 21 CFR Part 820 requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform precision calibration, adjustment, and verification of:
- Electronic instruments
- Mechanical measuring devices
- Dimensional equipment
- Pressure systems
- Temperature and thermal measurement devices
- Humidity monitoring equipment
- Execute preventive maintenance activities to ensure equipment performance and reliability.
- Troubleshoot calibration discrepancies and equipment performance issues, identifying root causes and supporting corrective actions.
- Review calibration certificates, service reports, and vendor documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Maintain calibration records, equipment histories, and quality documentation in accordance with cGMP and FDA quality system requirements.
- Coordinate calibration and service activities with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
- Support investigations, root cause analyses, and CAPA activities related to measurement and calibration systems.
- Utilize IBM Maximo or similar CMMS/asset management systems to manage calibration schedules and equipment records.
- Partner with Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Engineering, Facilities, Maintenance, and R&D teams to ensure equipment readiness and regulatory compliance.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on calibration processes, documentation, and equipment reliability.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2-4+ years of related technical experience required.
- Strong hands-on experience calibrating and troubleshooting:
- Electronic equipment
- Mechanical instruments
- Pressure systems
- Temperature and humidity monitoring equipment
- Thermal and dimensional measurement devices
- Working knowledge of cGMP regulations and quality systems.
- Experience maintaining calibration records and reviewing calibration certificates.
- Ability to investigate equipment issues and support root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
- Strong technical documentation and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
- 5-7+ years of calibration experience in a GMP, GxP, medical device, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
- Experience working under FDA-regulated quality systems and 21 CFR Part 820 requirements.
- Pharmaceutical or medical device industry experience.
- Familiarity with IBM Maximo or similar asset management systems.
- ASQ Certified Calibration Technician (CCT) certification.
- Experience supporting specialized or proprietary calibration processes.
- Background in CAPA, preventive maintenance, equipment qualification, and compliance-driven environments.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to move between facilities and work areas as needed.
- Ability to independently lift and carry equipment weighing up to 20 pounds.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
