Lab Support Technician

Role Summary

The Lab Support Technician ensures that test and laboratory work areas remain compliant with customer Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) requirements and that scheduled preventive maintenance activities are completed at the agreed frequency. The role coordinates closely with customers to avoid disruption to project and test schedules, maintains appropriate supplies and replacement parts, and fulfills support requests involving the installation and basic maintenance of test equipment. This is an entry-level role with training provided; candidates should bring technical aptitude and a willingness to learn, rather than prior experience in every listed activity.

Core Functions

ESD Compliance

· Certify, install, inspect, and maintain ESD workstations and continuous monitoring systems in accordance with customer requirements and established procedures.

Preventive Maintenance

· Plan, coordinate, and complete scheduled and unplanned preventive maintenance using approved checklists and Scireo workflows.

Support Request Fulfillment

· Manage customer and team support requests for basic test-equipment installation and maintenance, escalating work that requires specialized support.

Parts & Supply Readiness

· Maintain appropriate on-hand quantities of ESD and preventive-maintenance supplies and coordinate replenishment with Inventory Management and the Capacity Specialist.

Customer Coordination & Improvement

· Coordinate work to minimize schedule disruption and gather feedback on productivity improvements and labor savings.

Key ResponsibilitiesPlanning & Coordination

· Facilitate planning conversations with customers to complete work without interrupting project or test schedules.

· Coordinate timing, access, priorities, and required customer input before beginning ESD, preventive-maintenance, or support activities.

· Communicate status, issues, and schedule risks proactively to customers and team leads.

ESD Compliance

· Manage and complete annual ESD certifications using the Scireo ESD Certification Dashboard.

· Manage and complete unplanned ESD certifications using Scireo SupportTRM.

· Install and certify new ESD workstations using Scireo SupportTRM.

· Install ESD equipment, including continuous monitors, grounding wires, and ESD matting, in accordance with established procedures.

· Certify workbenches equipped with continuous monitors and grounding wires in accordance with OEM specifications, using company-provided test equipment.

· Maintain on-hand quantities of ESD supplies required for new installations and replacements; coordinate orders with the Capacity Specialist when needed.

Preventive Maintenance

· Manage and complete annual preventive-maintenance actions using the PM Dashboard and Scireo ServiceTRM.

· Manage and complete unplanned preventive-maintenance actions using Scireo SupportTRM.

· Follow approved procedures and checklists when operating or maintaining basic mechanical and electrical equipment.

· Coordinate preventive-maintenance work with customers to avoid project or test schedule delays.

· Maintain required preventive-maintenance supplies and coordinate orders with the Capacity Specialist when needed.

Support Requests

· Manage support requests created by customers or team members.

· Install and assist with the basic maintenance of test equipment in customer work areas.

· Coordinate with customers and team leads when a request requires work beyond basic test-equipment maintenance.

· Document work accurately and complete required Scireo transactions.

Standardization & Budget Alignment

· Work with the Inventory Management team to standardize ESD and preventive-maintenance parts across customer sites and maintain appropriate stocking levels.

· Coordinate with Inventory Management and Capacity Specialists to align purchases with budget and availability.

·  Technical aptitude and willingness to learn ESD, preventive-maintenance, and test-equipment support procedures; training will be provided.

· Experience in a test, laboratory, technical support, maintenance, or other process-driven environment.
