Corrections Electronics Trade Instructor - SCI Huntingdon

This position focuses on teaching inmates the electronics trade while performing repair, maintenance, and installation work on critical facility systems. It blends classroom instruction, hands-on training, and technical trade work to support both learning and daily operations. As a Corrections Electronics Trade Instructor, you will perform the following duties: Trade Instruction: Teach electronics principles, guide hands-on practice, and maintain classroom discipline Work Oversight: Direct inmate work crews, assign schedules, and inspect completed tasks for quality System Maintenance: Maintain and repair communication, security, cabling, and surveillance systems Tool Management: Issue, track, and secure tools and materials used in training and work assignments Contractor Coordination: Escort contractors, assist with technical needs, and verify proper system operation Record Keeping: Maintain documentation for training progress, inventories, repairs, wages, and attendance Interested in learning more? Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment, 40 hours per week Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday. This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55. Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $53,036.00 (before taxes). QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Three years of experience in the testing and repair of electronic equipment; or An equivalent combination of experience and training. Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required. You must be able to perform essential job functions.
