Substance Abuse Specialist
COPE Community Services, Inc.
Under general supervision, the Substance Abuse Specialist will provide direct supervision for substance abuse treatment, group facilitation, pro social and case management support to adolescents participating in opiate addiction treatment (MAT). The Substance Specialist will administer the selected evidence based curriculum and assist in the continuum of care. This position is responsible for facilitating the Youth IOP groups.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in any field from an accredited college plus one (1) year full-time experience providing substance abuse treatment services. A valid AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card is required.
- State or national certification or licensing preferred (this is not required)
- Spanish speaking with experience working with the bilingual community (Spanish/English).

Additional Requirements: Must be 21 years of age (automobile insurance requirement) and possess a valid AZ driver's license with a "clean" or "acceptable" driving record. Applicants must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check. This is a Safety Sensitive Position. Pursuant to the AZ Drug Testing of Employees Act ARS 23-493, COPE Community Services, Inc. has determined this is a safety sensitive position. Because this is a safety sensitive position and in accordance with its Drug- and Alcohol-Free Workplace policy, COPE reserves the right to exclude or remove a person from this position if COPE believes in good faith that the employee's current use of any drug, legal, prescribed by a physician or otherwise (for example, medical marijuana), if the drug could cause an impairment or otherwise decrease or lessen the employee's job performance or ability to perform the job duties.
