Job Title: Quality Inspector
Job Description
The Quality Inspector conducts detailed inspections of materials and finished products to ensure they meet all customer and company requirements. This role focuses on in-process, final, and First Article Inspections in accordance with AS9102, while actively identifying areas for improvement to increase efficiency and strengthen overall quality performance. The typical working hours are Monday through Thursday from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, following a four 10-hour shift schedule, with overtime required on an as-needed basis.
Responsibilities

• Perform in-process, final, and First Article Inspections in accordance with AS9102 requirements.
• Carry out inspection tasks using a wide variety of test instruments and equipment to measure values and accurately record component data.
• Identify non-conforming products, determine root cause, and support resolution of quality issues.
• Communicate daily with the Quality Team to share findings, discuss issues, and coordinate corrective actions.
• Conduct and report internal audits and evaluations to ensure compliance with quality standards and procedures.
• Implement and improve quality control operating procedures to enhance efficiency and consistency.
• Identify and troubleshoot equipment problems and product defects, escalating issues when necessary.
• Participate in routine visual inspections to verify product integrity and adherence to specifications.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with safety standards.
• Apply quality control practices aligned with AS9100, ISO9001, and Nadcap requirements.
• Use Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to perform precise dimensional inspections.
• Read and interpret blueprints to verify product dimensions and tolerances.
• Use hand tools such as calipers, micrometers, thread gages, pin gages, height gages, and optical equipment to perform measurements.
• Interact with team members and other departments in a professional and collaborative manner.
• Assist in formulating strategic plans related to quality processes and continuous improvement.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support production and quality objectives.

Essential Skills

• Experience in quality inspection within a metal or machining environment.
• Proficiency in using inspection tools including calipers, micrometers, thread gages, pin gages, height gages, and optical equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Hands-on experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
• Working knowledge of quality control systems and standards such as AS9100, ISO9001, and Nadcap.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to identify issues and determine root causes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documenting findings and collaborating with the team.
• Ability to work full-time on a schedule of four 10-hour shifts, Monday through Thursday, from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with overtime as needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Any type of metal inspection experience is considered relevant and beneficial.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as cutting, deburring, and machining.
• Comfort working in a standard machine shop environment with production equipment and tools.
• Ability to contribute ideas to strategic planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Demonstrated professionalism when interacting with cross-functional teams and departments.

Work Environment

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Apple Valley, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
