Occupational Therapist

An exciting opportunity for a Senior Occupational Therapist to join the Occupational Therapy and Specialist Assessment Team within Adult Services at Vale of Glamorgan Council, based at Canolfan Ty Jenner, Barry. You will assess adults with physical disabilities, sensory impairments and/or learning disabilities, including aids to independence, major and minor adaptations, and manual handling assessments, with the aim of promoting independence and helping people remain safely at home. The role involves working within an interdisciplinary setting, liaising closely with NHS colleagues, GPs, social work colleagues and other agencies via a patch system, and supporting and supervising junior staff, students and Occupational Therapy Assistants. You will monitor recommendations for adaptations and equipment, maintain accurate case records, attend supervision and team meetings, and contribute to service development across the Vale of Glamorgan area. Applicants must be a qualified and HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist with relevant social care experience.
