Position Overview
- The Principal FPGA Engineer will be an individual contributor within the System Engineering Team working on developing next-generation technologies and products for the treatment of atrial fibrillation.
- The individual will be involved in all phases of product development including definition, design, troubleshooting, characterization, verification and manufacturing of 3D cardiac navigation and mapping system.
- The individual will be an integral part of the R&D organization delivering the highest quality, lifesaving technology to our patients.
Duties and Responsibilities
Following are the major results needed for the role. Additional responsibilities, tasks and duties will be assigned and required as needed.
- Firmware and hardware requirements development.
- Design, architect, development, implementation, integration, and testing of programmable logic.
- Development of FPGA VHDL code for Xilinx FPGAs and SOMs.
- Development of test benches for simulating and verifying designs.
- Definition, development, and documentation of hardware/software interfaces.
- Lab support and troubleshooting of programmable logic designs.
- Participate in risk management and failure mode analysis.
- Writing test protocols and reports
May be required to travel up to 5%. of the time.
Will be exposed to company private information which must not be divulged.
Experience, Education and Skills Required
Below are the minimum skills, formal education, certifications or training, and practical experience required to perform the general functions and duties of the role.
- Requires a minimum of 10 years of solid experience in programmable logic design engineering, development, and testing and a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a scientific/engineering discipline
- Minimum 7 years of experience (must be recent) with Xilinx FPGA design and simulation methods using VHDL, Verilog, and/or System Verilog hardware description languages.
- Experience with hard-core processor programming on Xilinx FPGA.
- Experience with ISim, ModelSim or equivalent simulation tool for design verification.
- Excellent oral and written communication and collaboration skills.
- Able to read and interpret schematics.
- Experience in Digital/Analog design a plus.
- Medical Regulatory experience is desired.

Salary Range: T he salary for this position is between $140,000 - $160,000 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
