About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Valid state license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: ICU experience required Floating required across step down and other units Description: Must have ICU experience. Traveler will be floated to ICU as needed. Patient ratio is 1:4-5. Previous charge experience is preferred. Experience with charting systems is required. Charting system experience with Meditech is preferred. Experience in community hospital settings is preferred. High patient care ratios and frequent floating are expected. Significant patient diagnoses include CHF, COPD, respiratory failure, pneumonia, post-cath, cardiac arrhythmias, and substance withdrawal. Special equipment utilized includes Bipap and telemetry monitoring systems. Expected to work some holidays and weekends in rotation with staff. Candidates must be comfortable with floating within the facility. Clinical experience should align with floating policies and adequate orientation will be provided. The facility has a total of 21 beds. Daily census varies but averages around 17 patients. Special procedures conducted include post cardiac interventions and dialysis. Specific skills required include managing BiPAP, central lines, and telemetry.
