Visual Communications Specialist
Our client in Providence, RI is seeking a talented Visual Communications Specialist to support multimedia content creation for a statewide health transformation initiative. This role involves designing engaging graphics, capturing and editing photos and videos, and managing website content to effectively communicate project progress and community impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Design graphics aligned with project branding for social media, digital media, flyers, event signage, and reports.
- Layout and produce reports and publications, coordinating printing and ensuring accessibility standards are met.
- Photograph outreach events and multimedia projects, and shoot/edit videos for campaigns and outreach efforts.
- Upload articles, photos, and videos to the website content management system, updating content and performing routine site maintenance.
- Collaborate with program leads and communications staff to develop multimedia materials that support the program's communication plan.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in communications, graphic design, journalism, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Four or more years of experience in graphic design, photography, and video production.
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, including InDesign, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro, or equivalent tools.
- A portfolio demonstrating original graphic design, photography, and video editing work.
- Experience with Drupal or other web content management systems.
- Ability to travel throughout Rhode Island for events and shoots, and work occasional evenings or weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing for health or government-related projects.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards in digital and print media.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
