General Laborer – Grounds Maintenance

Location: Luke Air Force Base, Arizona
Employment Type: Full-Time
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Reports To: Grounds Maintenance Manager / Site Supervisor

Position Summary

DMT Electric and DAP Construction Management, (DMT-DAP Joint Venture) are seeking a hardworking and dependable General Laborer – Grounds Maintenance to join our team at Luke Air Force Base. This position is responsible for assisting with the maintenance and upkeep of landscaped and natural areas, ensuring grounds are maintained in a safe, clean, and professional manner.

The ideal candidate enjoys working outdoors, is physically capable of performing manual labor in varying weather conditions, and demonstrates a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine grounds maintenance activities, including mowing, edging, trimming, blowing, raking, and weed removal.
• Assist with tree and shrub trimming, pruning, and debris removal.
• Operate hand tools and power equipment, including weed eaters, hedge trimmers, blowers, chainsaws, and mowers.
• Assist with irrigation repairs and maintenance as directed.
• Collect and dispose of trash, branches, and other debris from work areas.
• Load, unload, and transport tools, equipment, and materials.
• Maintain equipment and tools in safe operating condition and report any defects or maintenance needs.
• Follow all safety procedures, OSHA requirements, and company policies.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, construction labor, or a related field preferred.
• Experience operating landscaping or grounds maintenance equipment is a plus.
• Ability to safely use hand tools and power equipment.
• Strong work ethic and reliability.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record.

• Ability to obtain and maintain access to a federal military installation, including passing any required background checks.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, dust, and uneven terrain.
• Ability to safely operate grounds maintenance equipment and vehicles.
